  ARLENE DICKINSON
CEO, Venture Communications Ltd.
  • Arlene Dickinson is CEO of Venture Communications Ltd. and a 20-year veteran in marketing communications.
  • Her vision has driven Venture’s growth, successfully building it from a small, local firm into one of Canada’s largest independent marketing firms, with offices in Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa.
  • Arlene believes strongly that marketing’s purpose is to deliver business results. She is well known for pioneering how marketing can be accountable to delivering on clients’ business goals.
  • Her accomplishments, vision and leadership have been recognized with a number of awards, but perhaps her greatest honor was Venture's selection as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies for three consecutive years.
  • Since Fall 2007, Arlene has appeared as one of the “Dragons” on CBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den – a national television series which invites people to pitch business ideas to the Dragons, in an effort to persuade them to invest.

  • Became President and Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto Board of Trade in 1995
  • Currently Chair of the Board for Providence Healthcare

  JOHN BOWEY
Chairman, Deloitte Canada
  • BA in Economics from the Colby College and MBA from the Ivey School of Business
  • Appointed Chairmain of Deloitte in Canada in June 2006
  • Received the FCA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants for outstanding career achievements and leadership contributions to the community

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Carleton University in Ottawa
  • Held a number of marketing and management positions across Canada including Vice President of ibm.com, Americas.
  • Named President of IBM Canada Ltd in 2005

  TIM PENNER
President, P&G Canada
  • BBA degree from Wilfred Laurier University
  • Worked in marketing both in Canada and the United States
  • Appointed President of P&G in 1999
  • On the Advisory Panel of the Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity, and continues to serve in various leadership roles in the Metro Toronto United Way

  CARISSA REINIGER
Founder & President, Silver Lining Ltd
  • Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta
  • Worked as a National Account Manager and was a Business Development Manager for global advertising agency
  • Founded Silver Lining Ltd., a business that helps new and smaller companies expand
  • Grew her company into an international business in just over one year

  • Worked at KPMG’s Vancouver office in the Audit department
  • Appointed Chief Executive Officer of KPMG Canada in 2008
  • Recipient of Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40 award
